How do I know what the status is of my Background Check?

Ways to check your Background Check status

 

  • You will receive an email when your background check has been processed. Check your inbox including junk, spam or clutter folders.
  • You may check the status by logging into the school district or agency VOLY web site where you registered at and enter your email and password. If you are missing any documentation, a message in a red banner will appear stating, “You have not met all the requirements in order to volunteer”. Then you will see a display of what you have completed (in green) and have not completed (in red).
  • Next to Background Check,
    • if you see the status of NOT COMPLETED in red, if it has not been completed. You will need to click on the gray Complete button to the right and you will be able to complete the Background Check.
  • if you see the status of In Progress in yellow, this means that the results have not been received yet. Background checks are provided by a 3rd party vendor and may take up to 5 business days or sooner to process. This step cannot be expedited. Please wait the allotted time for your background check to process.
  • If your background check has not been processed within 5 days, contact the school district or agency where you are trying to volunteer at.

    Note: Some background checks may take up to 2 weeks, depending on the school district or agency
